I was encouraged and blessed by the opening session. Dr. Thoennes’ message about proclaiming the gospel, remembering what God has saved us from and how we are to communicate that message to our students was inspiring. I was reminded again of God’s powerful grace and that the gospel needs to be shared and shouted with boldness!
Worship was terrific, and the opportunity to write on a piece of paper words from my heart, and nail them to the cross, was humbling. It made communion seem all that more rich and real for me.
What was your experience? Are you shaken up yet? I look forward to all that God has in store for us here at NACCAP 2007.

Come savor food from Asia and the Mediterranean as you relax in the Southern California sunshine and enjoy the fellowship of your colleagues from around the nation.
You will also experience the dynamic, powerful and heart-stopping sounds of Taiko (Japanese drumming) as performed by Kishin Daiko, a multi-ethinic, multi-generational Taiko group from Southern California. Kishin Daiko’s music consists of traditional Japanese Taiko pieces and adaptations of traditional pieces, along with original compositions by contemporary musicians, and Kishin Daiko members.
Although Kishin Daiko’s performances are usually focused in Southern California, they have had the opportunity to tour Japan to perform and study Taiko. Some of their performance highlights include: The Los Angeles Philharmonic 75th Anniversary at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion; The World Cup Soccer Celebration at Universal Studios; the United Nations’ Blue Sky Project at Paramount Studios; The Super Bowl XXXII Pre Game; and Michelle Kwan Day. The International Welcome Dinner is Sunday, June 10 from 5:00pm-6:45pm.

While at NACCAP 2007, you won’t want to pass up the opportunity to promote your institution to homeschool families in Southern California. We anticipate that 200+ homeschool families will visit the College Fair on Wednesday, June 13, from 2:30pm-4:00pm in order to meet with YOU, the Christian college admissions representative!
NACCAP and Biola University are committed to providing a diverse homeschool audience for this event, and are promoting the college fair in the following ways:
- Full page ad in Christian Home Educators Association magazine (8,000 families)
- Email invitation (2,500 families)
- Postcard invitation (10,000 families with children ages 8-13, within 100 miles of Biola)
- Announcement on the Biola Youth website
The College Fair is immediately preceded by a College Prep Workshop from 1:00-2:15 p.m. The fee to exhibit is $30 per institution. Sign up today on the NACCAP 2007 registration form.
Note: Although the college fair was initially designed to reach homeschool students, we don’t want to limit it to just them. We encourage you to send email college fair invitations to all students in your inquiry pool who live in the greater Los Angeles area. Target zip codes for this fair include: 90200-90899 and 91000-91899. Thank you for your assistance in the promotion of this fair!

“Survey says…” This year’s Club NACCAP will be taking the form of the classic American gameshow Family Feud!
This is the special Admissions Edition of Family Feud and we, just like the show, will need the help of none other than you! The game and all the answers are totally based on the popular opinion of the general public, so who better to answer specific Admissions questions and trivia then the very people who take part in it every (and we do mean “every”) day.
So please, if you will answer the Family Feud questions in your own words – and see what the survey says at NACCAP 2007!

What is this “Shake It Up” theme all about?
NACCAP 2007 will challenge you with invigorating ideas and fellowship, as well as a personal and uncompromising approach to Christian education. As an attendee, we want to shake up your interaction and experience with culture, spiritual growth, relationships, ethics, and your career.
More than just professional development, NACCAP 2007 also aims to shake up the whole person of every participant in the following ways:
- Mind – to cultivate a global vision
- Body – to leave the conference strengthened and refreshed
- Heart – to renew your purpose and passion
- Spirit – to develop a pioneering spirit in your work
Ideally, your attendance and participation will result in you being better equipped, more excited, and ready to approach your career with new energy and insight. We encourage you to prayerfully consider how you might be “shaken up” at NACCAP 2007.
Biola’s new soccer field on top of parking structure really shakes things up on campus…what a great idea!

Movers & Shakers are NACCAP members who are currently ’shaking things up’ in their admissions role. We hope their stories will inspire and motivate you as part of your NACCAP 2007 experience!
Jeanne Cochran, High School Counselor
Tri-City School, Vista, CA
“I have gained invaluable experience and contacts from attending the NACCAP conferences, and was awarded the ACSI Exemplary Blue Ribbon School Award for our Senior Exhibition Program.
One of my first goals as the Dean of Women and College Career Counselor at Tri-City Christian School in Vista, California, was to become a member of NACCAP. I made contact with college representatives through NACCAP, who listened and gave guidance to our seniors as they presented their future college or university plans at our Senior Exhibition.
With their help, we established a successful comprehensive college program in one year. We’ve hosted NACCAP College Fairs at Tri-City now for several years, and have been blessed with the highest attendance nationally.
I have also piloted College and Career Seminars at the annual ACSI Conventions. My passion is to acquaint students beginning in the ninth grade with “college awareness” to prepare them to make intelligent choices regarding higher education.
I am a strong proponent of Christian higher education, and it has been rewarding to learn that 40% of our graduating seniors at Tri-City have chosen to attend Christian colleges and universities. Thanks to Christian higher education and NACCAP, we have successfully mentored other college and career counselors in implementing these programs at their schools.”
